I want to share with you how to get a room back in order in less than 10 minutes.
While I want to get it all back in order all at once, that is just not feasible.
I prefer to take a room to room approach. And I have come up with a system to get a room back in order in less than 10 minutes.
What you will need:
A laundry basket, a trash bag, and a messy room (if you cannot find one, head on over to my house for some inspiration.)
Step 1: Take a deep breath. Seriously it helps. And turn on some music.
Step 2: Make the bed. This gets a lot off the floor and gives us a place to set things on as we are cutting through the muck of the room.
Step 3: Go all around the room. Put trash in the trash bag and things that do not belong in that particular room in the laundry basket.
Step 4: Put things back in place. Put toys in their bins, clothes on the shelves or hangers, items back in drawer, straighten books.
Step 5: Check to make sure the room is all in order. Now it is time to unload that basket of randomness. If you are running short on time, you can do this later on at night when you are doing your zones. But if you have some time left in your ten minutes, it is a good feeling to just get that basket cleared out.
I know that I can easily get overwhelmed when I see a room that is so messy! I am not sure where to start.
The above steps have really helped me to get started and to whip that room back into shape.
