My kids are always hungry!!
I found myself constantly in the kitchen grabbing them a snack or two.
While trying to homeschool my 5 kids and manage our home, I knew I needed a better solution.
It was hard for me to stop and grab them a snack all the time. Plus, I wanted some simple reminders for them.
I am going to show you how I set up a simple snack station.
Plus, I am going to provide you with the printables to set up your own station at home.
Evaluate Your Space
First, you need a space for the snacks.
I like to set up a place for snacks in both the refrigerator and the pantry.
In the refrigerator, I use one of the drawers to keep easy to grab snacks. This usually consists of yogurt and fruit ready to grab in baggies.
This is how I set up the snack center in the fridge.
One of my favorite snacks for the fridge are Danimals Yogurt Smoothies.
My kids LOVE these!
And I love the fact that there is no high fructose corn syrup and no artificial colors. Plus, my kids get an extra boost of Calcium and Vitamin D.
For the pantry, I always take the snacks out of the boxes to make them more visible and easy for the kids to grab. (Keep reading to grab the free printables!)
Place Reminders By the Snacks
I prefer that my kids grab snacks out of the refrigerator first.
Remember the fridge is where you will find these Danimals Smoothies and snack-sized fruit.
In order to remind the kids to go to the fridge first, these are the notes I placed in the pantry.
#1 Check the Fridge First
#2 Drink a Whole Glass of Water with Your Snack
#3 Clean Up After Yourself
Meal Time Rhythm and Shopping List
In order to streamline meal time and shopping, I use a rotation for breakfast and lunch.
Here are our breakfast and lunch rotations:
This streamlines the shopping as well because I know what to purchase at the store.
