In our homeschool, the core program is Language Arts.
Reading, phonics, writing, grammar all stem from our Language Arts program.
Last year I discovered the Homeschool Buyers Co-op. Let me just say that I have no idea how I managed so many years of homeschooling without Homeschool Buyers Co-op.
First of all, I love their homeschool planning program Homeschool Planet.
Secondly, I love saving money on my curriculum.
Finally, I love the time I am saving by using the Lesson Plan Marketplace to plug in lesson plans to Homeschool Planet.
Have you tried Homeschool Buyers Co-op? It is the the best kept homeschooling secret, and it is time for you to learn more.
Read on to see the Language Arts program I have created for our homeschool using Homeschool Buyers Co-op.
I was compensated for my time reviewing this product and writing this review. I use these programs in my homeschool, and always give my honest opinion.
Brave Writer Program
Our family is a huge fan of the Brave Writer programs.
In our homeschool, we have used A Quiver of Arrows, Jot It Down, and Partnership In Writing.
The Brave Writer program allows me to teach reading and writing in a simple, every day approach.
It keeps my kids’ attention because it is constantly changing with new projects and books. Plus, I can use the Brave Writer programs to teach more than one child at a time.
As I look back and see the novels we have enjoyed reading aloud together and the writing that the kids have in their portfolio, I know I owe it all to Julie and her Brave Writer program.
Wordly Wise 3000
I love that this program is online.
It makes traveling so much easier, and less clutter in our school room.
Recently, I was looking for a new vocabulary program and I heard great reviews on the Wordly Wise printed version.
My 5th grader will be using this online Wordly Wise program for vocabulary this year.
With Homeschool Co-op, you save 89% on Wordly Wise.
Plus, you can use the Lesson Plans for Homeschool Planet found here. These lesson plans save so much time by having the lesson plan for the curriculum placed into your planner.
IEW Fix-It Grammar
Let’s face it. Grammar can be intimidating.
We have used Daily Grammar and Daily Reading Practice for several years. I still love this program, but I noticed that my fifth grader was needing more explanation of grammar concepts.
I have looked through many grammar programs and love what I see in IEW Fix-It Grammar.
I feel like it is a doable grammar program for my boys. In 15 minutes a day, we can learn new concepts, review grammar rules, and edit a sentence together.
And this program has a lesson plan as well from the Lesson Place Marketplace. This will make my planning even easier.
Explode the Code Online
I have included Explode the Code in our lower elementary program for years. I did not know they had an online version.
As I am planning our next school year, my younger students will have the chance to do Explode the Code online.
Again, I love online programs for the simplicity, the ease, and less clutter.
And Homeschool Buyers Co-op offers the program at a 46% discount.
One of the features of using Explode the Code online is that their progress is tracked, and the students receive immediate feedback on their work completed.
If you have a struggling reader, Explode the Code offers amazing results.
Always Ice Cream & Clever Dragons
This program is not exclusively a Language Arts program, but it offers Language Arts practice.
We have used this program for over a year, and the kids are loving it. It provides activities in Language Arts, Science, Geography, Foreign Language, even Typing and Biblical Studies.
One of my favorite features is the “read to me” speech bubble that will read the question and multiple-choice answers out loud to the student. This allows this portion of our school day to be done independently so I can work with another child one-on-one during that time.
My kids have practiced phonics, grammar, and vocabulary all in this one program.
Homeschool Buyers Co-op offers a 50% discount on this program so hurry on over and check it out.
I also have purchased the lesson plan for these programs to use with Homeschool Planet.
