During our school year, I have started to use PureFlix to provide extra learning opportunities (and sometimes a little downtime for myself!!)
As we learn about certain historical figures and scientific explorations, I can look on Pure Flix’s wide variety of Christian movies to find relevant information.
Some have called PureFlix the Christian version of NetFlix.
While I am a huge fan of the Christian aspect of PureFlix, I am amazed at the hundreds of resources I can use.
These are resources that are family-friendly with no ads or pop-ups or distractions you find elsewhere.
If you are looking for something to help keep your kids entertained and educated this summer, PureFlix is it!
My Favorite Historical Resources on PureFlix
We recently finished up our study of Abraham Lincoln. Here are some of our favorites:
The Presidents: From Politics to Power
We also took the time to watch Up From Slavery as we finished reading Uncle Tom’s Cabin.
I have noticed that watching a documentary or movie based on a historical event is an effective way to solidify and master the subject being taught.
My Favorite Science Resources on PureFlix
My boys are interested in the Space Race, and I honestly was not as educated on the subject as I thought. This series Nasa: The Complete Story was the answer I needed.
The Wildlife Docs – This is a great series to see wildlife up close and personal.
Just for FUN – PureFlix Movie Night
God’s Not Dead 2 (We have been waiting to watch this one!!)
Ready to Fit in a Family Move Night?
But not sure where to start?
PureFlix has you covered with a free most popular Christian movie guide. CLICK HERE TO SEE IT.
We fit in movie time at our home by using a system called an evening rhythm.
It is something each night that our kids look forward to before bed. These activities bring us closer together and provide much-needed family time.
If you are interested in how I use different rhythms throughout our day, CLICK HERE.
This post is all about our journey with rhythms.
How Does PureFlix Work?
is a subscription-based program. It is a monthly rate of $10.99. This comes to less than $2 a week for thousands of faith and family streaming videos.
Also, you can watch PureFlix on 5 different devices at the same time.
In our home, we mainly use our AppleTV, but you can stream with AmazonFire, Google Play, Chromecast, computers, and Roku.
The best part about PureFlix is the ability to use it as a resource for subjects we are learning about.
Even if you are not a homeschooling family, you can take advantage of the many resources offered with PureFlix and supplement your child’s school education.
I have thoroughly enjoyed watching and learning right alongside my children.
Ready to start? You can join free for a whole month and see if it is the perfect fit for your family.
