It is Summer!!
Woohoo!! For some that is exciting!
And for some parents, terrifying!
Trust me; I have been there too.
I like structure. I like routine. And I like having activities to do with my kids.
While I sometimes enjoy the lazier pace of summer. I also like to have activities planned during the month.
These activities ensure that learning is still happening and that the kids are not digressing on all of our hard work we did over the school year. And the summer does not pass us by because we did a lot of fun activities.
There are four calendars we are following this June.
I know that sounds like a lot, but they all offer something different for the kids to do and learn! Plus, I like to be prepared!
These are the calendars we are using:
- Summer Book Based Activity Calendar from Growing Book by Book
- June Math Problem of the Day by Math Geek Mama
- Summer Bucket List Monthly Calendar by 123Homeschool4Me
- Activity Ideas for the month of June by Nurture Store
All of the calendars are free, except for Growing Book by Book, which is only $4!!
Let me break down each calendar so you can find one (or four!) that will work for your family.
I love this calendar because it tells me which books to get from the library (or grab through Amazon when we are traveling). Plus, simple activities for each book to do with the kids throughout the week. These 3 calendars are only $4 and you receive THREE FULL MONTHS OF BOOK IDEAS AND ACTIVITIES.
There are two separate calendars based on grade level. One is for K-2, and the other is for 3-5.
Each day, there is a math problem for them to finish.
These math problems will be perfect for the older three kids to do right after our morning time together.
Just think, one math problem a day every day of the summer will really add up to keep those math skills sharp!
This calendar has simple ideas that I sometimes get overlooked, such as looking at the clouds for shapes or having a picnic in your backyard. These activities require little prep but make the summer months memorable. I love these ideas!
I love the ideas on Nurture Store. I am a subscriber to their newsletter and LOVE receiving the FREE weekly play planner for ideas each week.
This page has 30 crafts for kids to remember this summer for years to come!
Which one are you the most excited to try this summer?
I am so excited to get started on these fun crafts and books with my kiddos.
I hope you will join us!
