There are so many benefits to playing games with your kids.
- number and shape recognition, grouping, and counting
- letter recognition and reading
- visual perception and color recognition
- eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity
And the benefits are not just educational.
Games teach our kids social skills, such as communicating verbally, sharing, waiting, taking turns, and enjoying interaction with others.
AND this is probably the most important benefits for my rowdy boys – Board games can foster the ability to focus, and lengthen your child’s attention span by encouraging the completion of an exciting, enjoyable game.
I have come up with The Top 10 Games for a Rainy Day, but of course these games can be played anytime. And hopefully often!
